About Our Practice

  • We have 2 locations. Our main office is located behind Huntsville Hospital at 910 Adams Street SE, Suite 300. Our Madison office is located in the ​​United Community Bank Building at 8337 Highway 72 West, Suite 201.

  • We are affiliated with Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, The Surgery Center of Huntsville, and Madison Surgery Center.

  • Office hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00-4:30 pm and Friday 8:00-4:00 pm. We are closed for major holidays, but are open most non-major holidays. We do not offer evening or weekend appointments.

  • Lab hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00-4:00 pm and Friday 8:00-3:00 pm. The lab is closed for lunch from 12:00-1:00. Hours can vary by location. No appointment is needed for the lab.

  • Telehealth appointments are offered by certain providers. Insurance coverage should be verified prior to scheduling. To discuss further, please call our office.

  • If it is an emergency, please call 911. For urgent appointments, please call the office to talk to the clinical staff of the physician you are needing to see. Non-urgent visits, please contact the scheduling department to discuss if any same-day or next-day appointments are available.

  • We unfortunately do not offer walk-in appointments.

  • At this time we do not keep a cancellation list for any of our providers.

  • Our Main Office offers parking across the street, directly in front of the office building off of Adams St. A parking deck around the back of the building has patient parking as well. At the Madison office, parking is available at the front of the building.

Office Policies

  • No. There is a $25 fee for no-showing an appointment. There is no fee for canceling or rescheduling a visit.

  • Please give our scheduling department a call if you are running late. This will allow them to let the nurses and physician know that you are running late. Unfortunately, if you are more than 15 minutes late, we will need to reschedule your visit.

  • Please bring your License and Insurance card to all visits. Arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment to complete new patient paperwork.

  • To request medical records, please sign the medical records release with your information, who is receiving the records, and your signature. Please fax at (256) 536-4109 or mail to our office at 910 Adams St Suite 200 Huntsville, AL 35801.

  • Please call your pharmacy first to see if you have refills available on your prescription. If you do not, refills can be requested through the portal or by calling the office.

  • FMLA paperwork can be obtained by the following:

    Drop off forms at either our Huntsville or Madison office.

Billing and Insurance

  • Most major insurances are accepted. At this time, we do not accept Medicaid and certain providers do not accept Medicare. Please let our scheduling team know if your insurance is Medicare or Medicare Advantage when calling for an appointment.

  • Most insurances cover preventive visits at 100%. If you speak with a physician about any problems you may be having, you may be required to pay your copay at check out.

  • We accept cash, credit, debit, and checks.

  • Some of our providers accept self-pay. You may contact our office to discuss. Payment is due at the time of service.

Gynecology

  • Annual visits should be scheduled at least 2-3 months in advance to ensure availability.

  • Please view our Annual Exams page for more information.

  • Paps begin at 21 years old.

  • This is optional for all patients and can be done without an annual exam if needed.

  • Nurses will call with results between 7-10 business days. Results are also available through our portal.

  • Light bleeding is acceptable when performing a pelvic exam and pap smear. If you are experiencing heavy bleeding and need evaluation at that time, please keep your appointment. If the appointment is for a routine annual, you may contact our office to reschedule.

  • Our office does not perform mammograms. Contact the facility in which you plan to perform a mammogram and if an order is needed, that facility will contact our office on your behalf.

Contraception

  • We offer all forms of contraception. Please view Contraception and Family Planning for more information.

  • Most insurances cover contraception at 100%. You can contact your insurance company or the billing department to have coverage checked before coming in for your appointment.

  • As with any new start or change in birth control, minimal irregular bleeding can occur for up to 3 months following initiation.

Teens

  • It is different for every patient. Many patients have their first gynecology visit after they have had their first menstrual cycle. Our providers can cover topics such as heavy, irregular or painful periods and can educate on feminine hygiene, birth control for those in need, STIs. Our clinical team is happy to be a resource for our teenage patients to discuss many sensitive subjects.

  • Unless the patient is having specific problems, a pelvic exam is often not required for teenage patients.

Pregnancy

  • Your first OB visit is based off of the first day of your last cycle. We begin OB care at or around 8 weeks gestation. If you have any questions about when to come in, please give our scheduling department a call.

  • Yes. An ultrasound will be done at the first visit to confirm the pregnancy.

  • Insurance will typically pay for two routine ultrasounds during pregnancy. An ultrasound is performed at the first appointment to confirm the pregnancy and then again at 20 weeks to assess development of the fetus.

  • If you would like to transfer from another office, please contact the scheduling department to discuss details of your pregnancy and transfer.

  • This charge varies depending upon your insurance coverage. A representative with our office will contact you within the second trimester with this information.

  • There may be times when seeing another physician is required.

  • A nurse will call and review a failed test with you, as well as the recommendations made. A 3hr glucose test can be recommended to identify abnormalities in the way your body handles glucose after a meal. If a 3hr glucose test is ordered, please follow these directions:

    Do not eat or drink anything eight hours prior to performing the test.

    Arrive at our office between 8:00-8:30 and check in with the front desk for this lab test.

    You will have blood drawn a total of four times: fasting, 1 hour after glucola drink, 2 hours after finishing glucola drink, and 3 hours after finishing glucola drink.
